During a phone call, Abdelatty emphasised the need to preserve security and stability across all Libyan territories, safeguard the state's resources, and respect the unity and territorial integrity of Libya.

According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, Abdelatty also stressed the importance of dismantling armed militias as a step toward restoring security and stability in the country.

The Egyptian FM reaffirmed Cairo’s consistent and supportive position regarding Sudan, underlining the importance of maintaining the unity, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Sudan and its national institutions.

He emphasised Egypt’s commitment to engaging positively with various regional and international efforts aimed at achieving an immediate ceasefire to end the humanitarian suffering of the Sudanese people.

Addressing the broader peace efforts in Africa, Abdelatty welcomed US efforts that led to the signing of a Declaration of Principles between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Rwanda.

He noted the agreement’s contributions to achieving peace, stability, and economic development in eastern DRC, considering this step as a significant development towards reaching a lasting peace agreement.

He highlighted such efforts’ impact in enhancing stability in the Great Lakes region and across Africa, in alignment with US President Donald Trump's broader efforts to promote the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the Middle East and Africa.
