President El-Sisi made this statement during his meeting with Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, in Alamein City.
During the meeting, El-Sisi also expressed Egypt's commitment to supporting the unity and cohesion of Libyan state institutions.
He reaffirmed the need to strengthen coordination among all Libyan parties to formulate a comprehensive political roadmap leading to simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections, a position he previously stressed during a meeting with Haftar in Cairo in January.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar, the chief of staff of Libya's Security Units; Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, Libya's chief of staff of the Ground Forces; and Major General Hassan Rashad, director of Egypt's General Intelligence Service.
President El-Sisi also affirmed the urgent need to eliminate foreign interference and expedite the departure of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya.
In addition, he expressed Egypt's appreciation for the Libyan National Army's role in combating terrorism, facilitating the elimination of terrorist organizations in eastern Libya.
The president also emphasized that Egypt, in coordination with Libyan parties and the General Command of the Libyan National Army, is making every effort to reinforce security and stability in Libya, preserve its unity and sovereignty, and restore its development path.
For his part, Field Marshal Haftar expressed appreciation for Egypt's steadfast support since the crisis began, as well as its relentless efforts to restore security and stability in Libya, commending the strong historical ties between the two nations.
He also thanked Egypt for sharing its development experience through leading companies, affirming his commitment to overcoming challenges and achieving the aspirations of the Libyan people for stability and prosperity.
