This came during a meeting on Monday between President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, in the presence of Head of Egyptian General Intelligence Service (GIS) Hassan Rashad and Head of Qatari State Security Agency Khalfan bin Ali bin Khalfan Al-Kaabi.

During the meeting, the Qatari prime minister conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, emir of Qatar, to President El-Sisi, affirming the Qatari leadership’s keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation between both countries in various fields, Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy said.

He also highlighted the importance the Qatari government attaches to consolidating relations between the two countries, particularly in joint investment projects, which align with the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

For his part, President El-Sisi expressed his deep appreciation for the emir of Qatar, stressing the shared determination to elevate bilateral relations to broader horizons to keep pace with current regional and international challenges.

Both leaders also underscored their categorical rejection of any reoccupation of the Palestinian strip or attempts to displace its people from their land.

They further stressed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, per international legitimacy resolutions, is the only way to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.

In this context, President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt's preparations to host the international conference on Gaza reconstruction, in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations, and the importance of immediately beginning the early recovery process once a ceasefire is reached.

According to El-Shenawy, both leaders agreed to intensify joint efforts to reach peaceful political solutions to other crises in certain regional states, emphasizing the importance of respecting their sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Additionally, Egypt and Qatar highlighted the need to continue consultations and coordination between them to serve their common interests and enhance regional security and stability.
