El-Sisi receives Bahraini officials for talks on Gaza, regional security
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Monday Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s national security advisor and commander of the royal guard, and Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, commander of special operations.
Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that the Bahraini envoys conveyed greetings from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, praising close ties between the two countries and stressing the importance of expanding cooperation.
Talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations as well as developments in Gaza, with the two sides underscoring the urgent need to allow humanitarian aid into the strip without obstruction and rejecting the displacement of Palestinians.
They also discussed the importance of containing broader regional tensions to safeguard security and stability.
According to a presidential statement, El-Sisi welcomed the Bahraini officials, expressed appreciation for King Hamad’s policies, and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to coordination with Bahrain in light of regional challenges.
