According to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), Sunday will bring very hot and humid conditions nationwide.

Cairo and Lower Egypt are expected to peak at 37–38°C, while the North Coast will hover around a still-warm 32–33°C.

The south will endure the harshest conditions, with highs of 39–43°C.

Humidity will make it feel 2–3 degrees hotter, dragging the heat well into the night.

From Monday, however, the mercury is set to slide.

Cairo and Lower Egypt will cool to 34–35°C, the North Coast to 31–32°C, and Upper Egypt to between 36 and 41°C — still hot, but less punishing.

Active winds sweeping across much of the country from Sunday through Wednesday should help temper the evenings, offering some relief after a weekend of stifling air and sweaty commutes.
