These meetings come amidst the latest regional and international developments and their impact on security and stability in the Middle East.

A meeting was held on Sunday between Egypt's Minister of Defence and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Meguid Saqr, and Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, and his accompanying delegation during their current official visit to Cairo.

The talks addressed ways to strengthen military cooperation between the Egyptian and Jordanian armed forces.

Al-Huneiti also met with Egypt's Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, who expressed his appreciation of the strong and historical ties between the Egyptian and Jordanian armed forces. Khalifa also stressed the Egyptian military's keenness to deepen military and defence cooperation with the Jordanian armed forces.

For his part, Al-Huneiti reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to enhancing military cooperation with Egypt in the coming period, praising Cairo's efforts in supporting security and peace in the region.

The meetings were preceded by an official reception ceremony held at the Ministry of Defence headquarters, where military bands played the national anthems of Egypt and Jordan. Senior commanders from both militaries and the Jordanian defence attaché in Cairo attended the meetings.
