Head coach Hossam Hassan made minor changes to the squad due to injuries, including a call-up for NBE Club defender Amr El Gazar as Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim is sidelined with a muscle injury while Nice's Mohamed Abdelmonem is out with a lenghtly ACL injury.

Zamalek midfielder Mohamed Shehata is another notable absence while talented playmaker Nasser Maher has failed to find consistent form.

Midfielder Marwan Attia, who recovered from a hernia that kept him out of the start of the season, has been included in the squad.

The Pharaohs will host Ethiopia in the seventh round of Group A qualifiers at Cairo International Stadium, before travelling to face Burkina Faso at 4 August Stadium four days later.

Egypt sit top of the group with 16 points from six matches, five points ahead of second-placed Burkina Faso. Victories in both fixtures would secure Egypt's place at the 2026 World Cup.

Ethiopia are currently fourth in the group with six points from six games.
