The ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that 70 deaths, including 12 children, have occurred since the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared the Gaza Strip a famine zone.
"The catastrophic consequences of famine in the Gaza Strip are accelerating," it warned.
The ministry explained that 43,000 children under the age of five and over 55,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women are suffering from malnutrition.
It also noted that 67 percent of pregnant women suffer from anaemia, the highest rate in years, and warned of the seriousness of the current indicators and the limited emergency response due to the blockade on food and medical supplies.
