A Room Full of Strangers by Sarah Zaki, exploring the instability of identity in today’s life, where perception often outweighs reality and the self becomes something constantly negotiated, shaped, distorted, or silenced by society’s stories. Inspired by German Expressionism, she uses distorted forms, intense colors, and theatrical gestures to surface emotional tension. Her fragmented, mask-like figures reveal the performative, constructed nature of visibility.
This exhibition encloses paintings and bronze sculptures to express different registers of emotional and psychological intensity. Rather than offering fixed interpretations, each piece acts as a psychological sketch, a trace of feeling or transformation. Emotions are treated as raw, shifting material within broader social realities. Though rooted in personal experience, the work invites reflection on how we are seen and how we see. It doesn’t demand resolution; it opens space for engagement (14 September-9 October).
