After 15 years dominated by Messi and Ronaldo, a new era of stars has emerged, and Frenchman Ousmane Dembele appears to be the frontrunner this year.
The 2024/2025 season was exceptional for Dembele with Paris Saint-Germain: 35 goals, 16 assists, UEFA Champions League Best Player, French Ligue 1 Best Player and Top Scorer, and winning every possible title with the club.
The club and all its stars are openly supporting him for the Ballon d’Or, considering any other result “unnatural.”
If he wins, Dembele will become the second French player to lift the Ballon d’Or while wearing a French club jersey since Jean-Pierre Papin, writing a new chapter in the history of French football.
