The Premier League champions have become known for their dramatic finishes, scoring crucial late goals such as twice in the final five minutes against Bournemouth (4-2), a 90+10 winner against Newcastle (3-2), and another late winner at 90+5 against Burnley (1-0).

This winning spirit extends beyond the Premier League. Liverpool maintained their momentum in the Champions League, securing a late winner against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid with a 90+2 goal in a 3-2 victory.

“It’s a good thing that we react quickly to negative things that can happen in matches,” Salah told beIN Sports on Monday.

“I’m happy with what happened and the reaction, and we must study this deeply. I think this is something that can be fixed.

“Scoring goals in the final minutes? I’m speaking from a striker’s perspective, so the question should also be asked of the defenders and the coach. But we believed in our chances until the final minutes, and that’s what happened.”

The Egyptian winger, who helped Liverpool clinch last season’s Premier League title with his dazzling form—earning the Golden Boot and Player of the Season awards—believes Manchester City remain their main challengers despite a slow start to the campaign.

City currently sit ninth in the table with seven points, eight behind leaders Liverpool.

“I’ve been here for nine seasons now, and I think Manchester City are my direct competitors, along with Arsenal and Chelsea. I think they’ll be in the top four this season,” Salah said.

“If you want to win the Premier League, you have to find a balance between attack, midfield, and defense. Conceding a lot of goals isn’t a good sign, but things have to be fixed.”

Physical condition

Salah also revealed the secret behind his outstanding fitness, which makes him one of the Premier League’s most athletic players, particularly in terms of pace.

He emphasized his commitment to training and recovery to maintain peak condition.

“I don’t think there is a secret to maintaining my fitness. I persist in training and take care of myself,” he said.

“As part of my daily routine, I wake up in the morning and perform prayer, eat healthy meals, and listen to music.

“After finishing the workout, I go home and enter the fitness room at 6:30 PM to spend 40 minutes training to regain my vitality.

“Then I go to the sauna, and if I have time, I go to the pool before dinner at 7:30.”

Salah has made a strong start to the season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in seven appearances across all competitions.

He is among the nominees for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
