The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, highlighted the long-standing collaboration between Egypt and the company, which spans nearly six decades.
During the meeting, the Egyptian PM highlighted the importance of Egypt’s civil aviation sector, noting its significant economic impact and its role in creating jobs.
He pointed to the civil aviation sector’s connection with supporting the state’s efforts in the tourism sector, noting Egypt’s expansion of infrastructure investments in airports and other components of the civil aviation system.
Madbouly further underscored the efforts of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to develop and modernise the EgyptAir fleet.
He welcomed Boeing's suggestions to enhance their cooperation, citing a recent deal for the long-term lease of 18 new Boeing aircraft.
The first delivery is anticipated in January 2026, which Madbouly noted as a testament to Boeing's importance to Egypt.
For his part, Nelson reviewed the different models produced by Boeing, highlighting the company’s efforts to cooperate with EgyptAir.
He also discussed the possible timeframe for the delivery process of the required aircraft models, noting the possibility of accelerating the process.
Madbouly is leading Egypt’s delegation at the UNGA80 on behalf of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi. He held several side meetings over the past two days. He also delivered a speech at the UN's two-state solution summit.
