Indian embassy marks 10th Ayurveda Day in Cairo

The Indian embassy in Cairo has marked the 10th annual Ayurveda Day with a series of events showcasing India’s traditional system of medicine and its role in sustainable health.

This year’s theme, Ayurveda for People and Planet, highlighted the practice’s contributions not only to individual well-being but also to environmental sustainability.

Ambassador Suresh K. Reddy joined Mohamed El-Shenawi, President of Galala National University, Alia El-Guindy, Head of Complementary Medicine at the National Research Centre (NRC), and other academics to discuss the role of traditional medicine in modern healthcare and opportunities for collaboration between India and Egypt.

A virtual session featured leading Ayurveda specialists from India, Dr Preeti Chhabra and Dr Rinky Thakur, who spoke on therapeutic methods, preventive care, and Panchakarma therapy.

An accompanying exhibition displayed Ayurvedic herbs, medicines, and treatment approaches, drawing strong interest from visitors.
