The decision was published in the Official Gazette on Monday.

The 300-member chamber is scheduled to begin its inaugural sitting at 11:00 AM local time, formally commencing its first legislative term.

The session follows the national elections held in August and September.

Pro-government parties—including the Mostaqbal Watan (Nation's Future) Party, the Homeland Defenders Party (Homat Al-Watan), the National Front Party, and the People’s Republican Party—secured a landslide victory.

The Mostaqbal Watan Party alone won 102 out of 200 seats filled by elections.

The 200 elected members were chosen through a dual system (100 via closed-list proportional representation and 100 from individual constituencies).

The election, the second for the Senate since its re-establishment by constitutional amendments in 2019, saw a turnout of 17.1 percent, with approximately 11.3 million of the 69.33 million eligible voters casting their ballots.

The remaining 100 senators will be appointed directly by the president to complete the chamber's composition.
