Egypt committed to judicial independence: El-Sisi on Judiciary Day

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi reaffirmed the state’s commitment to the independence of the judiciary and non-interference in its work, describing it as a cornerstone for ensuring justice and upholding the rule of law.

This approach, El-Sisi added, helps consolidate social peace, protect rights and duties, and strengthen national security and stability.

President El-Sisi made his remarks during a meeting with members of the Supreme Council of Judicial Bodies and Authorities to commemorate Egyptian Judiciary Day, observed annually on 1 October.

During the meeting, the president expressed deep appreciation for the judiciary’s role in safeguarding constitutional principles, protecting citizens’ rights, and ensuring stability and social peace.

For his part, Justice Minister Adnan Fangari thanked President El-Sisi for his continued support of judicial development.

He reviewed the measures taken to expedite case processing and highlighted the technological upgrades being introduced across judicial institutions.

The Supreme Council members also affirmed their dedication to strengthening the principles of justice and the rule of law, recognizing the judiciary's central role in Egyptian society.

Egyptian Judiciary Day was first celebrated in 2021 following President El-Sisi’s directives.
