The foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar issued a joint statement on Sunday applauding Hamas' response to US President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the Gaza war, release all captives, and immediately begin negotiations on implementation mechanisms.

According to the statement, the ministers also welcomed President Trump’s call on Israel to immediately halt its bombing and begin implementing the exchange agreement, expressing appreciation for his commitment to achieving peace in the region.

They affirmed that these developments represent a genuine opportunity to reach a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire and to address the severe humanitarian conditions facing the people of the Gaza Strip.

The statement also welcomed Hamas’ announcement of its readiness to transfer the administration of Gaza to a transitional Palestinian Administrative Committee composed of independent technocrats.

The ministers emphasized the need to launch immediate negotiations to agree on mechanisms for implementing the proposal and addressing all its components.

They reiterated their joint commitment to supporting efforts aimed at implementing the proposal and working toward an immediate end to the war in Gaza.

The ministers also stressed their determination to reach a comprehensive agreement that guarantees the unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, prevents the displacement of Palestinians, and ensures that no actions are taken that endanger civilian lives.

They affirmed their support for an agreement that ensures the release of captives, the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza, the unification of Gaza and the West Bank, and the establishment of a security framework guaranteeing the safety of all parties.

Such an agreement, they added, should lead to a complete Israeli withdrawal, the reconstruction of Gaza, and a just peace based on the two-state solution.

Hamas announced late Thursday that it had agreed to release all Israeli captives, alive or deceased, and hand over Gaza’s administration to a technocratic government in response to President Trump’s plan to end the war.

On Saturday, senior Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouk said the group had accepted “all the main points” of President Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza, noting that “each point includes details that require discussion.”

The US plan calls for an immediate end to the war, the exchange of captives and prisoners, and the formation of a transitional Palestinian Administrative Committee of independent technocrats to manage Gaza’s affairs pending broader political arrangements.
