Delegations participating in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations arrived in Egypt on Monday, as a new round of talks commenced in the Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh, sources confirmed.

A source familiar with the discussions told Reuters that the negtiations “will last for at least a few days, if not longer,” saying negotiations could last several days or longer.

“The goal is to reach a comprehensive agreement that includes all details before the ceasefire takes effect,” adding that “a deal is unlikely to be reached swiftly, as the goal is to achieve a comprehensive agreement that includes all details before the ceasefire takes effect.”

Both Hamas and Israel have agreed on the basic framework of the 20-point plan proposed by US President Donald Trump.

The next phase of negotiations is expected to focus on finalizing technical details, a process that has proven lengthy in previous rounds.

Mediators are working to resolve a number of complex issues, including the timeline and logistics for Israel’s troop withdrawal from Gaza, the transfer of Gaza’s administration from Hamas, and the creation of the International Stabilization Force, as outlined in Trump’s plan.
