The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) dispatched its 46th Zad El-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza convoy on Wednesday, carrying more than 150,000 food parcels, five ambulances, 11 water tankers, and hundreds of tonnes of flour, diesel, and medical supplies bound for the Gaza Strip.

The ERC said its teams continue to work around the clock at the Rafah crossing, maintaining full readiness across logistics hubs in North Sinai and nearby governorates.

The latest convoy is part of Egypt’s ongoing humanitarian effort amid Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, with the ERC acting as the national coordination mechanism for aid delivery.

Since October 2023, Egypt has delivered over 570,000 tonnes of humanitarian assistance, roughly 70 percent of all aid reaching the strip, through a workforce of more than 35,000 ERC volunteers managing daily convoys and field operations.

Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty recently confirmed that Egypt has provided “around 70 percent of the total assistance sent to Gaza since 7 October 2023,” underscoring Cairo’s central role in sustaining relief flows.

The new convoy arrives as hopes rise that ongoing Egypt-brokered talks in Sharm El-Sheikh could lead to a ceasefire and pave the way for full humanitarian access to Gaza.

Speaking at a Police Academy graduation ceremony on Wednesday, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said he had received “very encouraging information” about the progress of negotiations.

El-Sisi invited US President Donald Trump to visit Egypt to witness the signing of a Gaza ceasefire agreement if delegates reach a deal.

Israel’s two-year-long genocidal war on Gaza has killed over 67,100 Palestinians and wounded nearly 180,000 others, most of them women and children.
