According to Al-Qahera News, Dermer arrived shortly before the expanded session began, following a series of bilateral meetings among the mediators.

The negotiations, hosted by Egypt, are continuing amid cautious optimism. The Trump plan reportedly calls for an immediate halt to fighting, a prisoner and detainee exchange, a roadmap for Gaza’s reconstruction and a long-term truce.

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi earlier praised what he called Trump’s “strong will” to end the war, saying the US envoys had arrived “with a clear mandate” to reach a deal. He also invited Trump to visit Egypt to attend the signing of a ceasefire agreement, should one be achieved.

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said, during an interview with Al Arabiya and Al Hadath, that several Arab countries could sign peace accords with Israel once a Gaza ceasefire deal is reached.

He described the indirect talks between Hamas and Israel as “decisive and pivotal,” stressing that Cairo is working “steadily and seriously” to end the conflict.

Abdelatty added that Trump himself remains the “main guarantor” of the process, which aims to secure a lasting ceasefire and lay the groundwork for political negotiations toward a broader peace.

Regional officials are describing the talks in Sharm El-Sheikh as the most consequential diplomatic effort since Israel’s war on Gaza began, which has so far killed over 67,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children.
