According to the health ministry, a fire broke out at Al-Balshi (Rakoda) Hospital on Al-Mahmoudia Axis in Alexandria’s Karmouz district, killing at least one person.
Fifteen equipped ambulances were dispatched to evacuate patients and ensure their safety.
The ministry said ambulance teams safely transferred patients to Gamal Abdel-Nasser, Karmouz, Gamal Hamada, Kom El-Shoqafa, and Al-Gomhoreya hospitals, as well as a private facility, to receive the necessary medical care.
Some patients suffered from smoke inhalation and were promptly treated, with ongoing monitoring to ensure their conditions remain stable.
The prosecution is currently investigating the case.
