Mohamed Amoura opened the scoring early for the desert foxes, while Riyad Mahrez found the net in the 19th minutes before Amoura sealed the victory in the 58th minutes.
The win solidifies Algeria’s lead at the top of Group G with 22 points from nine matches (seven wins, one draw, and one loss), four points ahead of second-placed Uganda.
This will be Algeria’s fifth appearance in the World Cup. The Desert Foxes first qualified for the 1982 edition and have also appeared in the 1986, 2010, and 2014 tournaments.
Algeria are the fourth African side through to the 2026 finals, following Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt.
The 2026 World Cup will be jointly hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
Algeria will conclude their group stage against Uganda on Tuesday.
