“The success of this phase is a collective responsibility to ensure that the agreement is implemented and to achieve peace and stability,” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who also serves as foreign minister, in a statement on X.
His remarks came as US President Donald Trump announced he would soon travel to Egypt for the official signing of the deal. Trump expressed his “tremendous gratitude to the leaders of Qatar, Egypt and Turkey for helping us reach this incredible day”.
It also came as Germany announced plans to co-host an international conference with Egypt on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. Chancellor Friedrich Merz said Berlin would provide 29 million euros ($34 million) in immediate humanitarian aid for the territory.
