US special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Cooper visited an Israeli occupation army post in the Palestinian Strip, Fox News reported.

Fox said that the visit was to confirm that the agreed-upon withdrawal as part of the deal with Hamas was complete.

An initial deployment of 200 US troops has begun arriving in Israel to help monitor the ceasefire in Gaza under President Donald Trump's plan.
The US military will coordinate a multinational taskforce which will deploy in Gaza and is likely to include troops from Egypt, Qatar, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
Cooper had joined the truce talks in Sharm el-Sheikh and informed the parties that he could have the task force operational within two and a half weeks.
Cooper was appointed in early August to lead CENTCOM, the US military command responsible for the Middle East.
