Egypt condemns attack on displacement shelter in Sudan’s El-Fasher

Egypt has strongly condemned an attack on a displacement shelter in the Sudanese city of El-Fasher, which left several people dead and injured, calling it a new violation of international humanitarian law.

In a statement on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry renewed Cairo’s call for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the conflict in Sudan. It urged all sides to place the country’s national interest above all else and to work toward restoring peace and stability.
Egypt also offered its condolences to the victims’ families and to the Sudanese government and people, wishing a swift recovery to those wounded. According to
Sudanese media, around 30 people were killed and several others injured when the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) carried out artillery and drone strikes on a displacement shelter in the besieged city of El-Fasher, in western Sudan, on Saturday.
