Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Egypt to join the gathering, along with leaders of European, Arab and international organizations.

Earlier, El-Sisi received Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Downing Street announced that Starmer will pledge £20 million in additional UK humanitarian aid for Gaza, focusing on water, sanitation, and hygiene programmes managed by international agencies.

The UK also plans to host a three-day Wilton Park conference to help coordinate Gaza’s recovery with regional and international partners.

The conference will focus on maintaining the truce, expanding humanitarian corridors, and establishing a coordinated framework for Gaza’s reconstruction and institutional support.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived to attend the Sharm El-Sheikh summit, which brings together leaders and representatives from 31 countries and international and regional organizations. The event marks the signing of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and aims to advance lasting peace and regional stability.

Ahead of the summit, Arab League Assistant Secretary-General Hossam Zaki told Al-Qahera News he hoped for the full implementation of President Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza. He praised Egypt’s efforts in delivering aid and its firm opposition to forced displacement, saying Cairo’s position “profoundly shifted the course of political dialogue.”

French President Emmanuel Macron also praised Egypt’s key role in promoting regional peace and stability as he arrived in Sharm El-Sheikh on Monday to attend the summit.

Speaking to reporters, Macron said France will participate at every stage of the US-brokered peace plan, working closely with Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and other Arab partners to maintain the truce and support Gaza’s reconstruction.

According to Egypt’s State Information Service (SIS), more than 230 journalists and correspondents representing 88 international media outlets have been accredited to cover the event, underscoring global attention to what officials describe as a “historic step toward peace and stability in the Middle East.”
