In a post on his official social media account, President El-Sisi welcomed President Trump and his honourable delegation to the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.
"From the city of Sharm El-Sheikh, where the populations’ will is tied with the world leaders’ determination to end the war in Gaza," the Egyptian president said.
“They all carry a single message to mankind: Enough with war … welcome to peace,” El-Sisi wrote.
Presidents El-Sisi and Trump are scheduled to co-chair the peace summit, with the participation of 31 countries and international and regional organizations, to mark the deal to end the two-year-old war.
Earlier in the day, President El-Sisi welcomed regional and world leaders as they arrived in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh to attend the summit.
President El-Sisi also participated on Monday in a high-level meeting on the reconstruction of Gaza with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, the presidents of France and Turkey, the Emir of Qatar, the German chancellor, and the prime ministers of Italy, the United Kingdom, and Canada, as well as the Saudi foreign minister.
