The signing took place during the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, with the four leaders acting as guarantors of the Hamas-Israel ceasefire agreement reached, in line with US President Trump’s plan to end the war.

The mediators signed the deal after Israel and Hamas had already approved it in earlier talks in Sharm El-Sheikh, which focused on implementing the first phase of President Trump’s peace plan.

US President Donald Trump once again expressed his gratitude to Egypt and President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, saying, “Thank you for your efforts to bring peace to the region. I want to thank the Arab Republic of Egypt.”

Trump added, “I thank the Egyptian president, who leads a nation with a 6,000-year-old civilization — President El-Sisi is a great leader.”

Ahead of the signing, the US President said the leaders will sign a comprehensive document outlining the rules and regulations for implementing the Gaza agreement.

He called the Gaza agreement the largest and most important for the Middle East.

Trump noted that he had pledged to end the war in Gaza before taking office, stressing that the US doesn’t want a large-scale war to break out in the Middle East or anywhere else.
