In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the country’s full solidarity with Mexico during this difficult time and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to all those injured.
The ministry described the disaster as a painful ordeal that has claimed numerous lives and caused extensive destruction across affected regions.
According to Mexican authorities, torrential rains triggered by the remnants of Hurricane Priscilla and Tropical Storm Raymond have caused severe flooding and landslides in multiple states, including Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, Querétaro, and San Luis Potosí.
As of mid-October, the floods have killed at least 64 people, with dozens still missing, while thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed and key infrastructure disrupted.
Rescue and relief operations are continuing as emergency teams struggle to reach isolated communities amid ongoing rain and damaged roads.
