This brings the total number of Palestinian bodies handed over since the start of the captive-prisoner exchange operation to 120, the ministry said.
Under a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas to end the two-year-old Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, brokered by Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the US, Tel Aviv was to turn over the bodies of 15 Palestinians for every deceased Israeli returned.
On Wednesday, the Health Ministry in Gaza issued a statement saying its teams had received 45 bodies from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis.
The remains were handed over by the Israeli occupation army after being held during the Gaza war.
The health ministry said that the bodies of Palestinians handed over by Israel showed clear signs of torture, abuse, and field executions.
It added that many victims had their hands bound and eyes blindfolded, suggesting they were subjected to severe mistreatment before their deaths.
Medical sources said some bodies showed marks consistent with tank treads, indicating that several victims may have been run over by military vehicles.
Mahmoud Al-Zaqout, director general of hospitals in Gaza, said that some of the bodies were unrecognizable due to extensive mutilation.
He added that a committee is working to identify the victims and that the Health Ministry will publish a list of names once confirmed by the ICRC to allow families to identify and bury their relatives.
This brings the total number of bodies recovered since the start of the captive-prisoner exchange operation to 90, the ministry added.
In the evening, Hamas handed over two more bodies of Israeli captives killed in the Israeli carpet bombing of Gaza in the two-year-old genocidal war on the strip to the Red Cross
The Palestinian resistance group stated that it has returned all the remains of deceased captives that it could access at the moment.
It added that more search and recovery efforts are needed to pull out and identify the remains of remaining Israeli corpses, given the level of rubble and destruction left by the Israeli bombing of the strip.
