Egypt’s National Alliance for Civil Development Work has launched its 12th humanitarian convoy to Gaza, marking the first such mission since the Sharm El-Sheikh ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

The convoy, comprising more than 200 trucks loaded with over 4,000 tons of essential aid — including food, flour, tents, blankets, and hygiene supplies — aims to address the urgent needs of affected families and pave the way for expanded humanitarian operations in the coming weeks.

Officials said the timing of the convoy is of exceptional importance, as it coincides with a critical humanitarian phase requiring rapid aid delivery to support reconstruction efforts in the war-torn strip. The initiative underscores Egypt’s ongoing official and community-based role in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.

As part of national efforts to support those affected in Gaza, the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS) joined the relief convoy under the initiative “Masafat El-Sikka: For Our People in Palestine”, launched by the National Alliance in response to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to deliver urgent humanitarian assistance to Gaza.

The CEOSS contributed 22 tons of dry food items carefully prepared to meet the immediate needs of displaced Palestinian families.

“Our participation reflects the unity of the National Alliance’s institutions and the full solidarity of the Egyptian people with the Palestinian people, it reaffirms the spirit of cooperation and joint action that unites Egyptian civil society in confronting humanitarian crises.” Rafik Naguib, Director of National Development Initiatives and Volunteering at CEOSS, said

Earlier on Thursday, Egypt dispatched its 51st humanitarian convoy to Gaza, carrying more than 10,000 tons of food, fuel, and medical supplies, to facilitate the entry of over 400 trucks per day under the latest ceasefire agreement.

According to official data, the total volume of Egyptian aid that has entered Gaza through Egyptian territory has now exceeded 600,000 tons — representing more than 70 percent of all international aid delivered to the strip — making it the largest relief campaign in the world in recent decades.
