The CAF Champions League defending champions are making their debut in this prestigious one-off match, while RSB Berkane will participate for the third time.
Last season, Pyramids FC clinched their first-ever continental title, achieving this remarkable feat in just their second attempt, after they defeated South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns 3-2 on aggregate, with a 1-1 draw in the first leg and a 2-1 victory in the second.
The Sky Blues capitalised on that momentum by clinching the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup last month, overcoming Saudi Arabia's Ahli Jeddah, the Asian Champions League Elite winners, with an impressive 3-1 win.
The Egyptian giants are also driven by a desire for revenge against RSB Berkane, who narrowly defeated them 1-0 in the 2020 CAF Confederation Cup final.
Despite a smooth passage past Rwanda's APR to cruise to the second preliminary round of this season's CAF Champions League, winning 5-0 on aggregate, the team has struggled domestically, as they currently sit seventh in the Egyptian Premier League standings, with 14 points from four wins, two draws, and one defeat.
Jurčić will have to make do without several key players, including Ramadan Sobhi, Karim Hafez, Mahmoud Zalaka, and Osama Galal, who are sidelined through injury.
On the other hand, Berkane, one of Africa's most consistent clubs in recent years, won the CAF Confederation Cup for the third time last season after defeating Tanzania's Simba to qualify for the Super Cup.
The Moroccan side also captured the domestic league title to secure a place in the CAF Champions League, underlining their growing dominance on the continental stage.
