FM Abdelatty spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi, and US Presidential Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussions focused on the importance of continuing efforts to reduce tensions, build mutual trust, and create conditions conducive to resuming negotiations between Iran and the United States to reach a comprehensive agreement on Iran’s nuclear program that safeguards the interests of all parties and enhances regional security and stability.

The officials agreed to maintain communication and coordination and to continue studying proposals that could help achieve the desired breakthrough on the issue.

The latest diplomatic push follows the Cairo Agreement signed on 9 September between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, which marked a step toward restoring cooperation between the two sides after years of tension.

The deal, brokered with Egyptian facilitation, was seen as a foundation for renewed dialogue over Iran’s nuclear activities and broader regional stability efforts.
