Al-Ikhbariah reported on Monday that Israeli troops placed anti-personnel mines around their post inside the Jabata al-Khashab Reserve in northern Quneitra.
The move follows repeated Israeli incursions into Syrian villages and territories, including raids and arrests in occupied areas near the border.
Syrian media said the mining of farmlands and villages poses a direct threat to civilian lives and constitutes a “flagrant violation” of international law governing the use of landmines in protected zones.
Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, Israel has carried out numerous air and ground attacks on Syrian military positions, aiming to weaken the army and prevent the rebuilding of its infrastructure.
Israeli forces have also expanded their operations along the Damascus, Quneitra, and Daraa countrysides, seizing control of parts of the buffer zone along the Syrian-Israeli frontier.
