In a statement to the Middle East News Agency (MENA) on Thursday, Swelam said the event will witness wide participation from senior British government officials, members of the House of Commons and House of Lords, representatives of the Royal Palace, as well as prominent British and Egyptian business leaders.
The guest list will also include leading cultural figures, media professionals, artists, Egyptology experts, and social influencers, along with friends of Egypt and admirers of its ancient civilization.
The ambassador noted that the celebration coincides with the global inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, describing it as an unprecedented milestone on the world museum map — the largest institution dedicated to a single civilization and a symbol of the convergence between culture and innovation.
Swelam added that the program will include a live screening of the museum’s official opening, followed by a joint artistic performance combining Egyptian vocals and British music — a gesture symbolizing cultural harmony and the role of art in fostering understanding between nations.
He pointed out that the celebration will continue inside the British Museum’s Egyptian Antiquities section, surrounded by rare artifacts that embody the grandeur of Egyptian civilization and offer guests a sense of closeness to Egypt’s timeless spirit, even from afar.
