According to the Egyptian Presidency, President El-Sisi welcomed heads of delegations and guests of honor, including kings, presidents, and high-ranking officials.
The event featured a musical performance titled “The World Plays One Melody,” followed by a laser and drone show illustrating the “Orion Belt” theory and its link between the pyramids and the museum’s design.
The artistic performances also included “A Journey of Peace in the Land of Peace,” highlighting Egyptian creativity from the Step Pyramid of Djoser to modern architecture, alongside Coptic hymns and Sufi chants.
In his address, President El-Sisi said that the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum marks a new chapter in Egypt’s story of civilization — a tribute to the genius of the Egyptian people who built the pyramids and carved eternity into stone.
He emphasized that the museum stands as a global beacon of knowledge and peace, built through international cooperation, notably with support from Japan, and the dedication of Egyptian engineers, archaeologists, and workers over the years.
Following the speech, President El-Sisi placed the final piece of the museum’s model, symbolizing its official opening.
The ceremony continued with artistic segments portraying the story of the museum, a musical piece dedicated to King Ramses II, performances about Alexandria’s underwater antiquities, and a presentation of the Grand Staircase and the treasures of King Tutankhamun.
The celebration concluded with the “Khufu Solar Boat” show, a tribute to young discoverer Hussein Abdel-Rasoul, and a grand finale of fireworks, laser displays, and a tour of the museum’s main halls.
