Liverpool manager Arne Slot described Mohamed Salah’s 250-goal landmark for the club as “almost unbelievable” after the Egyptian forward led his side to victory over Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday.

Salah netted his 250th goal in all competitions to seal the win, drawing praise from Slot for both his finishing and all-round contribution.

“That’s huge. That’s almost unbelievable if you score 250 goals for one club,” Slot told reporters after the match. “You don’t see this that much in football anymore.”

The Dutch coach highlighted Salah’s contribution beyond scoring, crediting the 32-year-old for his work in possession and off the ball.

“Apart from the goal he scored tonight, he had a very good performance,” Slot said. “When we had to play long, we played mainly towards him. He held the ball, brought others into play, and even helped defensively after our first goal, I think he was supporting Virgil [van Dijk] near the halfway line.”

Slot said Salah’s consistency made such milestones feel routine.

“It’s special for him to score his 250th. But for him to score is not even that special, because that’s what he always does,” he added.

Salah has now scored in his last two appearances as third-placed Liverpool remain seven points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

Slot will hope his talismanic forward is hitting top form ahead of a crucial week featuring a Champions League clash with Real Madrid and a Premier League trip to Manchester City.
