This came during PM Madbouly's visit to Doha to attend the first Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty summit on behalf of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
Egypt’s Ambassador to Qatar, Walid El-Feky, attended the meeting.
At the start of the meeting, Madbouly expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to meet the association’s chairman and members, emphasizing the depth of Egyptian-Qatari relations and Egypt’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Qatar across various sectors.
Madbouly highlighted the recent improvement in Egypt’s economic indicators, citing the positive results achieved through the implementation of economic reform measures. He noted that the country’s foreign exchange market has stabilized and that foreign companies can now easily repatriate their profits.
The prime minister added that, according to government projections, Egypt’s inflation rate is expected to fall to around 8 percent next year, down from approximately 12 percent at present.
He pointed to ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to enhance the investment climate and address challenges facing investors, to attract more foreign capital.
Madbouly stressed to Qatari businessmen and investors his readiness to personally meet with any investor to discuss proposals and opportunities in multiple sectors.
He affirmed Egypt’s commitment to ensuring that Qatari investors have a successful experience, adding that a new investment deal between the two countries will soon be announced in line with directives from the political leadership in both nations.
For their part, members of the Qatari Businessmen’s Association congratulated Egypt’s leadership and people on the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, describing the event as a source of pride for all Arabs.
They praised the strong ties between Egypt and Qatar and expressed their eagerness to deepen cooperation in all areas, noting the continuous coordination between the association and the Egyptian Embassy in Doha.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed economic indicators in Qatar and reviewed the facilities and incentives offered to foreign and Arab investors in Egypt. Madbouly also outlined Egypt’s ongoing comprehensive development efforts and several presidential initiatives, including the “Housing for All Egyptians” program.
