An official reception ceremony was held for the visiting president, featuring an inspection of the guard of honour, the playing of both national anthems, and a commemorative photo.

President El-Sisi then accompanied Japarov to a closed consultation session, followed by an expanded meeting attended by delegations from both countries.

The two sides later witnessed the signing of two memoranda of understanding, the statement added.

President El-Sisi described the visit, the first by a Kyrgyz president to Egypt since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, as “historic and a step toward opening new horizons for bilateral relations.”

He expressed Egypt’s desire to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, praising Kyrgyzstan’s decision to open an embassy in Cairo as a “strategic move” that would strengthen bilateral ties, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment sectors.

He also stressed the importance of maintaining coordination to hold meetings of the Joint Governmental Committee for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, as a framework to build on the visit’s outcomes and strengthen the political ties between the two countries.

For his part, President Japarov congratulated El-Sisi on the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum and reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Egypt in all fields.

He said the decision to open an embassy in Cairo reflects Kyrgyzstan’s appreciation of Egypt’s pivotal role in the Middle East and Africa, as well as the historical ties between the two countries.

The talks also addressed key issues of mutual interest, including opportunities for Egyptian companies to participate in development projects in Kyrgyzstan, given their extensive experience in infrastructure and construction.

Discussions covered ways to boost trade and investment, promote joint manufacturing, and enhance cooperation between religious institutions to counter extremist ideologies.

The meeting also touched on political and regional developments, with President El-Sisi reviewing Egypt’s efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.

In this respect, he highlighted Egypt’s plan to host an international conference on the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza by the end of November.

President Japarov stressed the importance of ensuring the full implementation of the agreement’s provisions.

He also outlined Kyrgyzstan’s perspective on recent developments in Central Asia and the challenges and opportunities facing the region amid current global transformations.
