During the calls, FM Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to uphold the Sharm El-Sheikh peace agreement and stressed the need to fully implement its terms to end the war in Gaza and the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinians.
He also emphasized the importance of moving forward with the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s plan, with its political, developmental, and humanitarian dimensions.
Moreover, FM Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s preparations to host the International Conference on the Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza, scheduled for later this month.
He said the conference will be a key step in mobilizing international support for reconstruction efforts and promoting stability in Gaza.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the calls also addressed the crisis in Sudan.
In this respect, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s consistent position in support of Sudan’s unity, stability, and national institutions.
He highlighted Cairo’s efforts within the framework of the Quad Mechanism to help de-escalate the violence in Sudan and reach a comprehensive nationwide ceasefire.
Abdelatty also emphasized the importance of regional and international efforts to achieve a comprehensive humanitarian truce that would pave the way for an inclusive political process while ensuring the flow of aid to all parts of Sudan.
He also expressed Cairo’s condemnation of the flagrant violations in the city of El-Fashir, calling for an immediate end to the violence.
The minister reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to continuing the delivery of humanitarian and relief assistance to the Sudanese people to ease their suffering.
