According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the victim, identified as Murad Fawzi Abu Saifin, was killed by Israeli gunfire in the town of Yamoun, west of Jenin. Israeli troops reportedly seized his body after the shooting.
Local sources told Palestinian news agency WAFA that Israeli forces stormed Yamoun overnight and opened fire on Abu Saifin in one of the town’s streets, hitting him with four bullets.
Ambulance crews were prevented from reaching him, and he was left to bleed to death before soldiers took his body away.
Witnesses said Israeli snipers were deployed on rooftops while troops carried out house raids throughout the town.
In related incidents, Al Jazeera reported that Israeli forces also raided the village of Al-Mughayir, west of Ramallah, turning several homes into military posts.
Bulldozers accompanied Israeli troops during another incursion into Qatanna, northwest of Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, in the town of Al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem, a Palestinian man was wounded after Israeli forces opened fire on a group of workers near the separation wall.
According to labour unions, 15 Palestinian workers have been killed since the beginning of this year, either by Israeli gunfire, during chases inside the 1948 territories, or after falling from the separation barrier.
The separation wall, built mostly on West Bank land, stretches over 202 kilometres and rises more than eight metres high, surrounding Jerusalem with concrete and barbed wire.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Information Office reported on Thursday that Israeli forces detained 540 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem during October, including eight women and 39 children.
Since 7 October 2023, the total number of Palestinians arrested has exceeded 19,300, among them 600 women and 1,540 children.
Israeli military operations and settler violence in the West Bank have also resulted in the deaths of at least 1,065 Palestinians and injuries to nearly 10,000 others since the start of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza.
Over 20,000 people have been detained, including 1,600 children, according to Palestinian human rights groups.
