At the inauguration, PM Madbouly stated that Egypt is witnessing an “unprecedented renaissance” in both local manufacturing and transport infrastructure, describing the two sectors as “twin engines” of sustainable national development.
Madbouly said the event comes amid “exceptional national momentum” reflecting Egypt’s shift toward a productive, export-oriented economy.
The industrial sector, he said, has become one of the most promising drivers of growth, serving as a locomotive for national development, job creation, and export competitiveness. He added that “There is no doubt that industry has become a central pillar for increasing growth rates, deepening local manufacturing, achieving self-sufficiency, and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian exports.”
“At the same time, the comprehensive transport system, encompassing sustainable green mobility, railways, roads, bridges, ports, logistics hubs, and inland waterways, represents a vital artery that supports this industrial renaissance and facilitates trade and investment.”
A cabinet statement said the opening ceremony was attended by transport and industry ministers from Arab, African, and European countries, along with ambassadors, representatives of international organisations, and executives from major Egyptian and global firms.
This year’s edition of TransMEA hosts 500 international and local companies from 30 countries, showcasing advanced technologies in transport, logistics, and industrial integration.
Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, said the exhibition reflects President El-Sisi's directives to advance industry and transport as the foundations of Egypt’s sustainable development strategy.
“The government, through the Ministries of Transport and Industry, is committed to developing modern transport systems and deepening local manufacturing to meet domestic needs, reduce imports, and expand exports,” El-Wazir said. “This will enhance Egypt’s global competitiveness, attract investment, and strengthen the national economy.”
He said TransMEA has evolved into a global platform bringing together transport ministries, government agencies, and leading international firms implementing major infrastructure projects.
The minister also announced that Egypt is working with international companies to localize the manufacturing of railway and transport systems, a step aimed at saving foreign currency, transferring technical expertise to Egyptian workers, and exporting surplus production abroad.
The 2025 edition features strategic forums, partnership agreements, and technical showcases covering next-generation transport systems, digital infrastructure, logistics integration, and sustainable industrial technologies, all in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Sustainable Development.
