El-Sisi emphasized the urgent need to maintain efforts to restore stability across the region while preserving the unity, sovereignty, and resources of its peoples, according to a presidential statement.

On Gaza, the president stressed the importance of fully implementing the Sharm El-Sheikh peace agreement in all its phases, consolidating the ceasefire, and ensuring the unrestricted entry of sufficient humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

The agreement, announced during the Sharm El-Sheikh summit and co-chaired by El-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, aimed to end the two-year Israeli war on Gaza.

Both sides reaffirmed that achieving a two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state in line with international legitimacy remain the only viable path to lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.

El-Sisi also reiterated Egypt’s support for all diplomatic efforts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and reach a comprehensive political settlement.

For his part, Shoigu expressed Russia’s appreciation for Egypt’s constructive role in promoting regional stability. “History will remember the crucial role played by President El-Sisi in achieving regional stability,” he said.

He added that Moscow remains committed to continued coordination and consultation with Cairo on shared concerns.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Head of Egyptian General Intelligence Service Hassan Rashad, and Presidential Advisor for National Security Affairs Fayza Abul Naga, along with senior Russian security officials.

Egypt-Russia partnership

During the meeting, El-Sisi highlighted Egypt's appreciation for its close relationship with Russia and the progress achieved, culminating in the 2018 comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between the two nations.

Shoigu affirmed Russia’s commitment to continuing bilateral cooperation and political consultations on issues of common interest.

According to the statement, the two sides reviewed opportunities to strengthen collaboration across political, trade, and investment sectors.

They stressed the importance of building on the agreements reached during the May 2025 summit in Moscow, where El-Sisi joined Putin for the Russian Victory Day celebrations.

They also discussed key projects, including the Russian industrial zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the Dabaa nuclear power plant, being built in partnership with Russia’s state-owned nuclear energy corporation, Rosatom.

El-Sisi stressed the importance of increasing economic and investment cooperation, boosting trade, and enhancing collaboration in the tourism sector, the statement added.
