The newly launched 37-metre vessel, weighing 135 tonnes with a width of 8.2 metres, carries the Made in Egypt label and signals the start of local yacht manufacturing.
Featuring a distinctive Sport Fisherman design, the yacht is powered by MTU engines delivering 2,600 horsepower. It includes a main suite, four guest cabins, and four crew cabins, as well as dual front hydraulic units for multi-purpose winch operations and a rear hydraulic platform for swimming access.
SCA Chairman Admiral Osama Rabie said the Suez Canal for Modern Boats Company reflects “a new and ambitious vision” to enhance Egypt’s maritime manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its position for regional competition and export.
He added that work is progressing rapidly on the company’s fibreglass factories in Safaga’s industrial zone, alongside projects to construct yachts and leisure boats for tourism and transport.
Mostafa El-Degheishy, CEO of the Suez Canal Company for Modern Boats, stated the firm is simultaneously working on several projects to boost marine tourism.
He noted that the new yacht was designed by US-based Fryco Yachts, with interiors by world-renowned designer Georges Vafiadis, and is being built under the supervision of the Italian classification society RINA.
El-Degheishy added that construction has already begun on another 18-metre yacht, with a fibreglass mould being prepared for future serial production once the factory becomes fully operational.
Additionally, the company is building two 17-metre leisure boats with 15-passenger capacity for the Suez Canal Authority, along with a 25-passenger Nile Taxi unit designed for river tourism.
