During a phone call, the Egyptian FM condemned the atrocities and horrific violations in the city of El-Fasher, calling for concerted regional and international efforts to support the Sudanese people and back Sudan's national institutions.
The two sides also discussed developments in the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of ongoing coordination to support efforts to consolidate the Sharm El-Sheikh ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
The two top diplomats affirmed the importance of fully implementing the agreement’s provisions to ensure a permanent ceasefire and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza.
During the call, Abdelatty highlighted the ongoing preparations for the upcoming International Conference on Early Recovery, Reconstruction and Development of Gaza in Cairo. The conference is expected to see broad high-level participation from several regional and global countries and entities.
Moreover, the two sides expressed commitment to continuing coordination to strengthen the partnership between Egypt and Saudi Arabia to support regional security and stability.
In related news, FM Abdelatty held another call with his Turkmenistan counterpart, Rashid Meredov. The two officials discussed developments in the Middle East, reviewing Egypt’s role in supporting peace, security, and stability, as well as ongoing efforts to de-escalate regional tensions.
Meredov, for his part, conveyed President Serdar Berdimuhamedow’s greetings to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, praising El-Sisi’s wisdom and leadership in the region amid difficult and exceptional circumstances.
He further commended Egypt’s role in supporting regional security and stability and looked forward to enhancing political, economic, and trade relations between Cairo and Ashgabat.
