The 33-year-old Liverpool forward joined the squad last week and played in Friday’s 2-0 defeat to Uzbekistan. He will be given time off as Liverpool prepare to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The EFA said winger Ahmed “Zizo” El-Sayed and midfielder Hamdy Fathy have been ruled out after suffering injuries against Uzbekistan.
Striker Salah Mohsen has yet to return to full training after picking up a knock in the same match, leaving his availability uncertain.
Coach Hossam Hassan will be boosted by the return of forward Omar Marmoush, who missed the Uzbekistan game for personal reasons, and winger Mahmoud Trezeguet, who has recovered from injury.
After facing Cape Verde, Egypt will play one more warm-up match against Nigeria as part of their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in December.
