The Egyptian side struggled to make an impact, with Algeria appearing the stronger of the two teams.
Zakaria Draoui came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 50th minute, but his shot rattled the crossbar.
Algeria also had a goal ruled out in the 60th minute, as Islam Slimani’s effort was flagged offside.
Egypt had defeated Algeria 3-2 in a thrilling encounter earlier in the week, on Friday.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has chosen to field a home-based squad for the Arab Cup while the senior team focuses on preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025, which will be held in Morocco from 21 December to 18 January.
In the Arab Cup, Egypt have been drawn into Group C, where they will face Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and the winner of the Mauritania vs. Kuwait qualifier.
Egypt finished in fourth place in the previous edition of the tournament.
