The Pyramids Echo Festival (24 – 30 November)

Giza Pyramids Plateau, Al-Haram 

Mon 24, 8.30pm: The grand opening of the Pyramids Echo Festival, a new international arts and music event, will feature world-renowned Chinese pianist Lang Lang, who will perform with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at the foot of the Giza Pyramids. 

Tues 25, 8.30pm: The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will perform a tribute to legendary Egyptian composers. Under the baton of conductor Hany Farahat, the orchestra will present a segment commemorating Ammar El-Sherei (1948–2012), while Ben Palmer will conduct compositions by Hesham Nazih (born 1972). The evening will also feature renowned Egyptian soprano Amira Selim. The festival’s choir master Adham Ezzat, and GUC choir master Ingy Lotfy.  

Wed 26, 8.30pm: The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by maestro Ben Palmer, will present “Hollywood Film Music” concert featuring Lebanese singer Carla Chamoun.   

Thurs 27, 8.30pm: “An Arabian Night and Cine Symphony Orchestra” concert, conducted by maestro Ahmed Oweda will feature acclaimed Lebanese singer Abeer Nehme and Syrian singer Faia Younan, both will bring a rare blind of authenticity and modern artistry, offering audiences a shared celebration of Arab music heritage.  

Fri 28, 8.30pm: A special evening titled “Egyptian Stars Under the Pyramids” will showcase several renowned soloists at the Pyramids Panorama in Giza. The performance will feature violinists Mariam Abouzahra and Amira Abouzahra, violist Sindy Mohamed, tenor Ragaa Eldin, bass-baritone Ashraf Sewailam, and mezzo-soprano Gala El-Hadidi.

Every Friday, 8pm (Free entry): “Alaragouz wa Khayal Al-Zel” (The Karakouz and The Shadow Puppet), a free public performance by clowns in Al-Muaaz Street, presented by Wamda and directed by its founder and scripter Nabil Bahgat.
