According to the Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty spoke with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, and with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, in consultations that focused on regional developments and bilateral cooperation.

Abdelatty briefed both ministers on Egypt’s work to ensure full implementation of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement, stressing the need to maintain momentum across its political, humanitarian, and developmental tracks.

He also underlined the importance of creating a credible political horizon leading to an independent Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 borders.

The ministers discussed the latest United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution on Gaza, including provisions authorizing the ISF. They stressed the need to enable the force to carry out its mandate, consolidate the ceasefire, and enhance security for Palestinians inside the strip.

Gerapetritis and Tajani praised Egypt’s “substantial and tireless efforts” to advance a just and comprehensive peace and uphold regional stability.

The calls also addressed the worsening conflict in Sudan. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Sudan’s unity, territorial integrity, and national institutions, and rejected any attempt to divide the country. He condemned atrocities in El-Fasher and called for intensified regional and international action to secure an inclusive ceasefire, launch a credible political process, and open a sustained humanitarian corridor.

Italy and Greece shared Egypt’s concerns and stressed the need for coordinated international efforts to mitigate the humanitarian crisis.

On bilateral ties, Abdelatty and Tajani welcomed the strength of Egypt–Italy relations, with Cairo expressing interest in expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, renewables, and natural gas. Both sides agreed to convene the Egypt–Italy Joint Committee soon.

FM Abdelatty and Gerapetritis also reaffirmed the strategic partnership between Egypt and Greece and the importance of close coordination amid widening regional challenges.
