The effort is part of the Zad Al-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza initiative that Egypt launched on 27 July to ease the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The dispatch comes amid continued Israeli attacks on Gaza, in violation of the ceasefire agreement brokered by Egypt, the US, Qatar, and Turkey in October.
Since 7 October, Egypt has served as Gaza's primary lifeline, delivering more than 45,000 trucks carrying over 660,000 tons of humanitarian supplies, accounting for around 70 percent of all aid entering the strip.
The ERC, in coordination with the UN and other international partners, has spearheaded efforts to deliver aid through the Rafah and Karm Abu Salem crossings despite the ongoing Israeli blockade on Gaza.
Aid delivered through the initiative has included food, water, medicine, medical equipment, relief supplies, hygiene kits, shelter materials, baby formula, diapers, ambulances, and fuel trucks.
However, the UN has warned that food remains critically scarce, especially in northern Gaza, where over 90 percent of the population lacks enough to eat, and many people go days without food.
More than 600,000 Palestinians are at risk of catastrophic hunger, with hundreds already dying from starvation or acute malnutrition, according to health authorities in the strip.
Severe winter storms, renewed Israeli airstrikes, and mass displacement have further deepened the crisis, creating an unprecedented humanitarian emergency.
On 22 August, the UN declared a famine in Gaza, the first in the Middle East.
Recently, Egypt has intensified efforts to allow bulldozers and engineering equipment into Gaza to remove debris, clear damaged roads, and ensure the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid.
