The invitation was conveyed by Mo Hong, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), during his meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in Cairo on Tuesday

Mo highlighted China’s interest in strengthening economic ties with Egypt and integrating the country into regional trade mechanisms that support African development, according to a cabinet statement.

Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s pride in its strategic partnership with China, noting that Egypt was the first Arab and African nation to establish diplomatic relations with China in 1956.

Both countries are set to celebrate the 70th anniversary of their ties next year.

PM Madbouly reiterated Egypt’s firm support for the “One China” policy and its rejection of external interference in China’s internal affairs.

He also expressed appreciation for Beijing’s backing of Egypt’s legitimate right to protect its water security.

Madbouly further highlighted the significant progress achieved in bilateral relations in recent years, particularly since the elevation of ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2014, following President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s first visit to Beijing.

The prime minister commended the strong participation of Chinese companies in Egypt’s major national projects, including the Central Business District in the New Capital, Alamein Towers, and the light electric rail project.

He also welcomed China’s decisions to expand investments—particularly in the TEDA industrial zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone—and emphasized cooperation in renewable energy, desalination, and other sectors that have propelled bilateral ties forward.

Additionally, Madbouly stressed that Egypt places great value on its cooperation with Chinese partners and stands ready to provide all possible support to companies seeking to use the Egyptian market as a gateway to Africa, the Arab world and Europe.

He pointed to promising investment opportunities in localizing industry, technology transfer, electric vehicles, home appliances, electronics, and renewable-energy components such as solar panels and wind turbines.

For his part, Mo Hong underscored the strength of the strategic partnership reinforced by repeated meetings between the leaders of both nations.

He noted that his current visit forms part of the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, and affirmed China’s readiness to work with Egypt to build “a more dynamic, forward-looking partnership.”

He reiterated China’s appreciation for Egypt’s support of the “One China” principle and affirmed Beijing’s commitment to respecting Egypt’s sovereignty and rejecting foreign interference in its internal affairs.

Mo Hong expressed his hope for Egypt’s participation in next year’s China–Arab Summit in Beijing and voiced eagerness to deepen cooperation in economy, trade and investment, citing Egypt’s vast land resources and significant human capital.

He stressed China’s support for Egypt’s economic reform efforts and its desire to engage in more development-focused partnerships.

Mo Hong also highlighted Beijing’s aim to align the Belt and Road Initiative with Egypt’s Vision 2030, affirming China’s readiness to expand cooperation in infrastructure, renewable energy, and industry.
